Redwings Horse Sanctuary is urging supporters to donate their used stamps to help them continue their work with equines in need.

With just 11 days left until Christmas, horse lovers can put festive post to good use, and save stamps from cards and letters for the charity.

Redwings can convert the stamps into funds for its rescue horses, ponies and donkeys.

“Christmas cards are dropping onto doormats everywhere, but did you know that you can save your used postage stamps, send them to us and we can turn them into funds for our rescued residents?” said a charity spokesman.

“We can accept UK stamps, foreign stamps and rare stamps and it’s a really easy way to recycle and help Redwings at the same time.”

Stamps should be placed in an envelope and sent to Redwings Horse Sanctuary, Hapton, Norfolk NR15 1SP.

This year’s festive film tells the story of Redwings’ foundation, and is once again voiced by Stephen Fry.

The animation takes supporters back to the beginnings of the charity in 1984 and how it has transformed into a national charity caring for more than 1,500 rescued horses and donkeys at its sites every day.

Along the way, viewers meet some of Redwings’ four-legged residents who the sanctuary has rescued and given a loving home to over the years.

Stars of the animation include Shetland pony Sampson, who was rescued in 2004 when he was just one year old, and Wiggins the donkey, who was abandoned by his owner on a livery yard leaving the landowner to care for him.
