Parkers.co.uk and Your Horse magazine have chosen the new Volkswagen Touareg as the Best Tow Car in the Parkers New Car Awards 2019.
The impressive new SUV was praised for its generous towing capacity and towing assist systems, as well as being good to drive and having a high quality and spacious interior.
The new Touareg takes the honours in the first Parkers Best Tow Car award against some impressive opposition.
As a road car, it’s luxurious beyond its price, while its interior and Innovision cockpit system are easy to use.

The Touareg wins out because it offers an impressive amount of tech for the money, including some very clever towing-assist systems.
With its 3.5-tonne towing capacity, it’s the perfect family car for those who need to pull hefty loads with ease.
Parkers editor Keith Adams said: “The Touareg could quite easily have won three awards this year, such is its all-round excellence.

The winning off-roader has been tested rigorously by the Parkers.co.uk team, which judged the best cars on a combination of running costs, value for money, cost-per-month figures and fitness-for-purpose.
It beat the highly-recommended runners-up, the Land Rover Discovery and Ssangyong Musso, both of which have enviable reputations for towing, being able to pull 3.5 tonnes with ease.
