After a period of review of Bauer Media’s UK titles, we can now confirm that Your Horse magazine has been sold to Kelsey Media.
Kelsey’s current portfolio spans lifestyle, motoring and specialist interest categories, so it’s great news that Your Horse has found a good home and will be able to continue to grow and develop under its ownership.
Two other Bauer brands, Sea Angler and Car Mechanics, have also been purchased by Kelsey.
In response to the end of the review, Bauer Media chief executive Chris Duncan said: “We are pleased to have found such suitable new owners in Kelsey Media who can extend the life of these magazines and we wish the brands and teams every success for the future.
“These tough decisions were made to help us recover and rebuild through the Covid-19 crisis. We will continue that process with our remaining portfolio of world class titles.”
Your Horse September/issue 468 (on sale 23 July 2020) will be the last to be published by Bauer Media. All future issues starting with issue 469 (on sale 20 August) will be published by the new owners.
The magazine will still be available to purchase from the newsstand as normal, and also online via Kelsey’s own platforms.
As far as the content of the magazine goes, we want to assure you that Your Horse will continue to provide you with the very best training, care and gear advice, expert tips and fab competitions.
Existing subscribers will not be affected by the change and will continue to receive all the issues remaining on their current term. Those who pay by Direct Debit will be sent further details regarding the change to update their payment details.
Digital subscribers will also be transferred to the new publisher’s platform along with all back issues to retain a full subscription history. The existing app will close and information on how to access and install the version available from the new publisher will be provided.
Your Horse Live does not form part of the sale and this event remains under Bauer ownership.
