The Clipper Queen has celebrated being crowned Groom of the Year at The Equestrian Business Awards, as nominations are open for this year’s potential winners.
Jillian Scott, otherwise known as The Clipper Queen, has been working with horses since she left school at 15, working in livery yards and riding schools, before going freelance in her 20s.
“Horses have always been my passion and clipping was a side line for several years to my backing and schooling business, but following a relationship split, I lost my yard and went full time with the clipping and grooming side of things – freelancing was something that nobody could ever take away from me,” she said.
Jillian’s creative clipping has seen her rise to fame through a variety of media outlets from magazines to television, including the BBC.
“The category was extremely strong with almost 100 individuals who had been nominated nationally,” said Katy Wright, founder of The Equestrian Business Awards. “Only three finalists for the Groom of the Year were selected. The quality of comments made about Jillian and her work was outstanding.”
The Equestrian Business Awards launched in 2021 and by last year, there were nearly 17,000 nominations across 18 categories of which three finalists for each were selected.
Nominations are open for this year’s awards and there are 19 categories to choose from, from Farrier of the Year to Social Influencer of the Year. Submit your nominations at www.equestrianbusinessawards.co.uk/nominate
