Countryfile presenter Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park will host the first Agria Ride on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October to raise money for charity.

The fun ride will welcome around 200 riders each day to enjoy 10-miles of hacking across the private estate near Cheltenham and will donation a portion of each participant’s entry fee to charity.

The ride is supporting Riding for the Disabled Association, Redwings Horse Sanctuary and Retraining of Racehorses. and costs £26 (or £21 for children aged 4-17). A donation of £10 from each entry fee will be split between the three charities.

The Agria Ride is a Europe-wide initiative and is open to all horses and riders.

“There is nothing better than a great hack with good friends for both horse and riders’ wellbeing, so what a brilliant way this is to raise funds for three important charities,” said Agria-sponsored Paralympic dressage rider Natasha Baker.

Staggered start times

Staggered start times will separate the participants to avoid overcrowding and the route will include optional jumps which range between 20cm and 80cm in height. The terrain is varied and there are several places to canter. A shortcut is available which reduces the distance of the ride to seven miles.

“We are thrilled to be joining the other Agria territories across Europe to raise money for some incredible equine charities. Agria is all about supporting horses and riders to be as happy and active as possible through the whole of their lives, and the Agria Ride embodies much of that,” said Agria UK’s CEO, Vicki Wentworth.

“We are very much looking forward to hosting the Agria Ride in October, which will combine our usual brilliant riding with other benefits for participants, and fundraising for three wonderful charities. Having supported Agria’s charity initiatives for dogs in the past, I am delighted to now be involved in their fundraising in the horse world,” said Adam Henson, owner of Cotswold Farm Park.

There is ample parking for horse boxes and a restaurant on site offering hot and cold refreshments.
