A signed saddlepad from Oliver Townend
Racehorse Relief, a rehabilitation and rehoming charity based in Cornwall, is running an online auction to help raise vital funds as part of its 10-year anniversary.
The money-can’t-buy items include the jacket that Sir Mark Todd wore for his showjumping round at the 2016 Rio Olympics, a signed saddlepad used by Olympian Gemma Tattersall and a tour of Clare Balding’s brother Andrew’s racing yard.
Bidding is open now and closes at 6pm on Easter Monday, 5 April 2021.
Auction winners will be announced online the following day.
The prizes include:
- A new, signed numnah from Badminton and Burghley winner Oliver Townend
- An eventing bundle, including signed items and Fox Pitt Eventing merchandise, plus racing pack of signed pictures and books from William and Alice Fox-Pitt
- Four tickets for the Queen Anne Enclosure at a spring family raceday at Ascot racecourse in Berkshire in 2022
- A signed, used saddlepad from event rider Gemma Tattersall, who was a member of the British squad at the 2016 Olympics
- 5 signed photos (as one lot) of jockey Jamie Moore’s win aboard Sire De Grugy, the winner of five Grade One Triumphs, including the Tingle Creek chase, Desert Orchid chase, Clarence House chase, Champion chase and the Celebration chase.
- The jacket Sir Mark Todd wore for his showjumping round at the 2016 Rio Olympics
- A signed and framed A3 photo of AP McCoy
- A morning for four people on the gallops in Newmarket with Bob Champion CBE
- A tour of racehorse trainer Andrew Balding’s stables in Newbury, plus a special gift from his sister, TV presenter Clare

All money raised from the auction goes direct to the charity and will help fund its future work in rehabilitating and rehoming ex-racehorses.
