A nine-year-old has pledged to ride 30 times in 30 days to help save her local riding school.
Keen rider Indie Whyman-Naveh wanted to show support for Chestnut Riding Stables outside of King’s Lynn in Norfolk. It is among the many riding centres struggling to make ends meet due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Indie is riding every day for at least 30 minutes and sharing details of her efforts on her Facebook page.
She set an initial target of £500 on her JustGiving page, but had already raised more than four times this.
“I really want to help the riding school and intend to ride my ponies, either Paddy or Barry, every single day for 30 days starting 15 February,” said Indie.
“I will ride in all weathers for at least 30 minutes. I will constantly post updates and evidence on Facebook, with help from my mum.”
Indie, who lives outside Sandringham, is a member of the West Norfolk Hunt branch of the Pony Club and aspires to ride in the Shetland Pony Grand National.
She also enjoys competing in working hunter pony classes and recently bought a youngster who she hopes to take pony racing.
