Looking for a new challenge for 2021? The Cotswold Cup — a series of eventing competitions for unaffiliated riders — could be the perfect opportunity for you and your horse.
The newly launched cup aims to provide a series of top class events across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, which are open to all.
The series is designed to give back to grassroots eventing by offering something unique for unaffiliated riders.
There will be 80, 90 and 100cm classes at every qualifying event, with a junior section in each.
The championships will welcome the top tier of competitors from the qualifiers. The same horse and rider combination collects points throughout the season for 1st – 10th placings, and the series will culminate with a £10,000 prize pot on offer at its championships.
“The Cotswold Cup aims to raise the bar for unaffiliated eventing,” said a Cotswold Cup spokesman.
“Every one of our qualifying venues must comply with a set of strict standards, meaning competitors can enter secure in the knowledge that they will be presented with an event run by a friendly and welcoming team, with good ground and the highest standards of both safety and presentation.“
There will also be exclusive training bursaries with top event riders for juniors.
Harry Meade, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen are supporting the bursary scheme, offering young riders the unique opportunity to train with a senior British team rider.

- Great Tew, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire (19-20 June)
- Barbury Castle, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire (17-18 July)
- Crown Farm, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire (21-22 August)
