A horse has been killed and two drivers have sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision involving a horsebox.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on the A47 in Norfolk on Sunday (21 August).
Officers were called to Acle New Road (Acle Straight) at 3.45pm following reports of a collision involving a black Range Rover and a red Renault Master horsebox, which was carrying a horse.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a road closure was put in place.
The driver of the horsebox, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, where she remains with life threatening injuries.
Sadly, the horse died at the scene.
The driver of the Range Rover, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to the James Paget Hospital having suffered serious injuries. The passenger, a woman also aged in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.
