Pony Club members will be able to enjoy competing over British Eventing (BE) courses this summer without the need of a membership, thanks to a collaboration between the two organisations.
The scheme will run in August and September and gives Pony Club members the opportunity to experience the benefits of competing with BE but without their parents having the initial commitment of purchasing a membership.
Pony Club members will just need to complete a free registration for horse and rider and they will then be able to compete in PC80, PC90 and PC100 sections, which will run alongside the other BE grassroots classes this summer.
“Enabling more young people to have the opportunity to enjoy our sport within a safe and progressive environment is a key objective of ours and we trust this partnership will assist with that,” said BE Chief Executive, Helen West. “We want to make sure Pony Club members have the opportunity to benefit from competing at BE events over the summer months and have some fun during their school holidays doing so. We look forward to working collaboratively with The Pony Club to deliver this and some of the future initiatives we have been discussing.”
Marcus Capel, Chief Executive of The Pony Club, added: “I am very excited for our members to have this opportunity to enjoy the sport without incurring the additional expense of a membership fee. I very much look forward to working closer with BE to the benefit of both organisations and our members and their horses.”
