The 60th BEVA Congress, Europe’s largest equine veterinary event, will bring together a host of national and international speakers to champion the equine profession.
It will take place live from 8-10 September, 2022 at the ACC in Liverpool, and will give attendees the chance to listen and interact with leading practitioners, get updated on the latest clinical developments and hear perspectives from world-renowned specialists.
Practical skills will be shared, as well the latest updates and clinical research, with an emphasis on championing the diverse opportunities the profession offers, and addressing some of the non-clinical challenges currently being faced, such as recruitment, retention and work-life balance.
This year’s programme includes five live streams running in parallel throughout the conference with clinical research presentations also returning after a Covid-enforced hiatus.
The first plenary lecture will be presented by Dr Pat McCue who will review events that have shaped current practice in equine reproduction before looking at what the future holds. A second plenary lecture has been introduced at Congress this year; the Dr Peter Rossdale Memorial lecture will become an annual fixture at Congress and will cover aspects of evidence-based medicine.
The inaugural address ‘Evidence in perinatology’ will be presented by Dr Celia Marr, who will also recall key aspects of the life of Dr Rossdale, who is regarded as one of the greatest mentors in equine veterinary science.
“Whilst we are sure most delegates will be clamouring to attend the lectures and discussions in Liverpool in person, the programme also includes a virtual stream available live online,” said David Lloyd, Congress Scientific Programme Chair. “A session from one of the streams will be available throughout each day.
“Also, to help reduce our carbon footprint, we are holding one virtual session concurrently across all lecture theatres. Global leaders in the field of infectious disease, imaging, nursing, reproduction and sports medicine and rehabilitation, will present virtually to the lecture hall rather than travelling to the congress. This session will have 25 of the “best of the best” speakers, presenting and discussing topics that challenge us in practice.”
Early bird tickets for BEVA Congress are available from 28 February. Tickets provide access to all lecture exhibition halls as well as full access to the virtual congress hub. Virtual tickets receive full access to the virtual congress hub only. This year BEVA is also giving physical delegates access to all Congress content for six months after the event.
Early bird BEVA member prices are £499 for vets and £187 for vet nurses for all three days (with concessions available for those in their first three years post graduation or on a lower salary). Virtual tickets are £199 for vets and £40 for nurses.
BEVA has a ‘peace of mind’ bookings policy to reassure those who are concerned that the Covid-19 situation may change between booking their ticket and the event.
