The British Horse Society (BHS) has shared details of the BHS National Riding School Championships 2022.
The competition is open to BHS Approved Riding Centres and all competitors must be non-horse owners competing on horses and ponies on a Riding School License.
This year’s championships are back in person after being held virtually for the last two years, and will take place on Wednesday 13 April at Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex, Warwickshire.
“This unique competition allows riders at BHS Approved Riding Schools, who don’t own their own horse, to compete against each other,” said a BHS spokesman. “Whatever your age or ability come and take part and show us your skills in equitation, jumping and stable management.
To enter, speak to your BHS Approved Centre to find out if they are hosting a qualifying event. If you ride at a BHS Approved Centre that doesn’t host a qualifying event, speak to them to see if you are able to compete.
At the championships there will be rosettes to 10th place and a sash to the winner in all classes. Commemorative rosettes will be issued to all competitors and there will be ‘spot prizes’ throughout the day. Coach and Proprietor recognition awards will be given to the Coach/Proprietor of the winning rider.
“We are delighted to say that long term sponsor Champion, the makers of quality of riding hats and body protectors, is continuing to support the event,” added a BHS spokesman. “We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Championships in a few weeks’ time”
