Police are appealing for information after tack was stolen from Bolesworth International Horse Show. Items were taken from tack lockers of horseboxes at the Cheshire venue and officers are urging riders to be wary if they are offered tack that could be among the stolen items.
The tack was taken some time overnight between 2 and 3 July, and police are calling on the public to report any suspicious behaviour, including dash cam footage if they were driving at night.
“Detectives are appealing for information following the theft of horse riding accessories at Bolesworth Castle,” a spokesman for Cheshire Police told Your Horse. “At sometime between 10.30pm on Saturday 2 July to 5.30am on Sunday 3 July unknown offenders forced entry to lockers at the Bolesworth Hill Road site and a quantity of horse saddlery was taken.”
An investigation is currently underway, and officers are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.
“These thefts occurred during a busy event with lots of people in and around the area,” said Detective Constable Paul Boneham. “We have a number of enquiries underway and I would like to reassure the public that we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.
“As part of our enquiries, I would urge anyone in the area who may have seen something that didn’t look quite right, to come forward. The same goes to anyone who was driving in the area during the night and may have dashcam footage to please come forward.
“If anyone is offered any horse tack items, please be wary and if you have any suspicions, contact us and we will do the rest.”
