An international horse trials is set to entice spectators with new additions alongside the equestrian action. Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire is launching a new celebration of all things food and drink, with Field Food offering a showcase of locally-produced artisan options for visitors to enjoy, as well as additional entertainment for the whole family.
The event is one of the newest international horse trials in the UK, and this year takes place from Wednesday 6 – Sunday 10 September Cornbury Horse, Charlbury. The five-day international event was re-established by founder David Howden in 2020 following an absence for a number of years, and this year has a “new look and feel” with added attractions for those attending.
The artisan foods on offer will include open Asados (Argentinian barbecue food), a range of offerings from local farms, plus a selection of local ales from the on-site public bar, the aptly named ‘Wychwood Inn’, with further details to be released.
On the Saturday and Sunday of the event (9-10 September), families with young children can take part in ‘Wildwood Crafts’ throughout the afternoon with children aged 12 and under attending for free. There will also be evening entertainment once the equestrian action has finished for the day on Friday, 8 September and Saturday, 9 September with live music.

I look forward to welcoming everyone to our fourth year and creating a modern take on this equestrian tradition while giving our athletes, horses, owners and partners a first-class experience.”
