Corvedale Equestrian has revealed it will support two amateur dressage riders and their horses this year as part of a new scholarship scheme.

Run by Mark Walters and Nick Lawson, Corvedale Equestrian is a Shropshire-based dressage, breeding, training and coaching business.

The scholarship programme is worth £2,000 and will include a monthly lesson at Corvedale Equestrian’s base in Bridgnorth with either Mark or Nick, and two warm-up and support sessions at competitions.

The successful applicants will also receive advice and guidance from companies linked to Corvedale Equestrian such as their nutritionists, therapists and sponsors.

The initiative is open to all amateur riders but applicants will need to have an online presence. They will also need to be happy for Corvedale Equestrian to share their progress in the media.

Giving back

“We’ve been fortunate to have had guidance from top experts in our careers, and now we want to give something back to the sport,” said Mark.

“This scholarship is an amazing opportunity for riders who are passionate about dressage and want to improve.”

In order to be considered, applicants should email a paragraph explaining their dressage goals and aspirations for 2025, details of their current training level, a video of them training or competing and a few lines about why they deserve this opportunity to scholarship@corvedaleeducation.co.uk

“We want to provide a positive, supportive environment where riders can make informed choices for their horses and themselves,” added Nick Lawson who started his equestrian journey at a local riding school.

The application process is open now and will close at the end of February.
