There are only 10 days to go until The Festival of British Eventing, presented by the British Equestrian Trade Association, returns to Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire (5-7 August).
The event will hold four prestigious championships; The British Open Championship incorporating the Event Rider Masters, The Smith & Williamson British Intermediate Championship, The Dodson & Horrell British Novice Championship and The TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, a National Restricted Novice Championship.
“The Festival is always a wonderful weekend set in the idyllic countryside surroundings of Gatcombe Park and Captain Mark Phillips’ cross country course is ready to test the abilities of our athletes,” says Event Director Tim Henson. Top local riders such as Zara Tindall, Harry Meade and Laura Collett will compete against riders from further afield including Lucinda Fredricks, Andrew Hoy and Blyth Tait for the titles.
The Festival not only provides first class eventing action, but hosts the BETA sponsored Pony Club Inter-Branch Team Show Jumping, The Dubarry Burghley Young Horse Event Series, Retraining of Racehorses (ROR) showing classes, a dressage to Music display and the return of the family favourite; Shetland Pony Grand National.
