SyncThermology sponsored Equine vet, Lucinda Ticehurst, came second in her first ever mixed race at Oakley Point to Point last week.
She succeeded in pipping at least three male jockeys to the final post after working her way up from the back of the field in the Members race on her own horse, West Cork Flash, at Oakley Point to Point at Brafield-on-the-Green last Saturday 19th March 2017.
Lucinda Ticehurst BSc BVMed Sci (Hons) BVM BVS MRCVS has been very busy this point-to-point season riding both her horses in a variety of point-to-points.
While West Cork Flash is an experienced racer, both under rules and in point-to-points with several successful placings last season, the success of last Saturday’s race against experienced competition shows their strong partnership is a force to be reckoned with this season.
Lucinda, who is sponsored by SyncThermology (a company who provide clinical standard thermography to the equine and veterinary industry nationally), is a successful rider with a respected and long-standing competition career spanning multiple equestrian disciplines over a number of years.
Commenting on her success, Lucinda says, “I am very pleased with our achievement last Saturday. I knew I was going into a tough race given that I was carrying an extra 4st 10lb in dead weight and up against the men, including experienced combinations, as I normally stick to the Ladies races!
“Flash and I worked our way up from the back consistently and steadily. As we started moving up the field and the end was in sight, it was sheer grit and determination! I couldn’t be happier that that all our hard work and preparation is paying off. Thanks also to SyncThermology for supporting from the sidelines and being another pair of helpful hands!”
