The search continues for a stolen donkey foal, following a “creditable sighting” of the youngster. The foal, named Moon, was taken from her field earlier this month (15 May).
Moon is around two months old and staff at Miller’s Ark farm in Hampshire, where she was based, are desperately trying to reunite her with her dam.
“We are completely devastated and incredibly concerned, she was only born at the beginning of March and needs to be with her mum,” they said at the time she was taken. “This little donkey will be braying loudly tonight because she will be missing her mum badly.”
The “creditable” siting of Moon, shared by Miller’s Ark, took place on the day she went missing at around 3-3.15pm. It involved a dark blue hatchback or small estate-style car. A member of the public stated that they saw a small ginger coloured donkey in the boot area of such a vehicle, and there was a boy, possibly around 10-14 years old sitting in the back of the car, behind the drivers seat, leaning back over to the boot area stroking and talking to the donkey.
The farm said their likely route from Miller’s Ark involved taking the A30 onto the A287 past Odiham, then continuing on the A287 Farnham Road, Odiham Road. At the top of Folly Hill Farnham continuing on the A3016 Upper Hale Road, through Upper Hale down to the traffic lights with the A325. Then onwards towards The Six Bells Roundabout.
They are pleading for anyone who may have been driving in the area at this time and date, to check any dashcam footage, CCTV or doorbell footage which may extend out onto the road that they may have taken.
Those with any information are urged to call police by dialling 101, quoting reference 44230191581.
