Four ponies are through to the SEIB Insurance Brokers Search for a Star Part-Bred Traditional final, which will unfold for the first time at Your Horse Live this Friday.
Each competitor will give a set show and each pony will be stripped in order for its conformation to be assessed. The judges are Sarah Chapman and Andrea Betteridge. Scroll down to see the four animals who have qualified for the championship.
Bog Bank Tilly
Owned and ridden by Hayley Makinson, this blue-roan mare was out of work in 2020 due to a vitamin E deficiency, but has made a full recovery.
Hayley and Tilly enjoyed local showing before attempting the Search for a Star series, and they qualified for Your Horse Live at Stoneleigh Park
Branston Pickle
This 15-year-old bay gelding is owned by Lee Uttridge and ridden by Rosie Wrest, who qualified him at Brook Farm.
Letton Helen of Troy
Owner/rider Anika Wilding qualified for the Search for a Star mountain and moorland final at Your Horse Live in 2019 riding a different mare.
The rider had a nasty accident last year and said that this mare, Helen of Troy — who earned a Your Horse Live ticket at Richmond Equestrian Centre — has helped her regain her confidence.
Penrock Purposely Puzzled
Megan Godridge, who owns and rides this piebald gelding, bought Puzzled in early 2019, shortly after he had been broken in. That same year, they stood overall ridden supreme at the Grassroots Arena UK show.
They qualified for Your Horse Live at Dallas Burston.
Also running on Friday are the championships for the SEIB Search for a Star mountain and moorland, plus open and amateur veterans.
There’s still time to buy your tickets to Your Horse Live.
