Earlier this week (8 March) was International Women’s Day 2022, and what better way to mark the occasion than celebrating some marvellous mares from around the world?
A dozen horses have been selected as the new cover girls for NAF’s hormone balancing supplement, NAF Five Star Oestress, and the feed company has shared their inspiring stories.
In 2021, NAF launched a competition to find its new cover girls, and after receiving many nominations, the winners were selected by four leading female riders.
“We were overwhelmed with the number of entries we received and after much consideration, the final twelve mares were chosen by Team NAF supported riders Laura Collett, Cathrine Dufour, Charlotte Dujardin and Irma Karlsson,” said a spokesman for NAF.
The 12 mares come from Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Sweden and the United Kingdom and they will now be making their debut as our Oestress cover girls. Their headshots will be appearing on NAF’s Oestress powder and liquid product labels.
One of the winning mares is British-based Cuz, who is owned by Harri Green. Harri said Cuz can become temperamental when she is due in season, but Oestress has helped her have more “angel” days.
“She’s the boldest, most reliable event horse you could wish for and she would jump the moon for me,” she said.
Another mare who will be starring on the NAF product is skewbald retired mare Monica. She was once a top showjumper, but sustained an injury and had to be retired.
Monica’s owner, Pippa Haigh said Oestress helped her relax into her retirement.
“As a competition pony , she struggled to take to the retired and ultimately slower way of life and as a result this made her grumpy and stressed,” Pippa said. “She is a much happier horse when taking this supplement.”
