Redwings Horse Sanctuary will be able to create an interactive paddock map at its Norfolk site thanks to a donation of £11,200 from SEIB Insurance Brokers and their association with The Benefact Group and their Movement for Good Large Grants Award.

SEIB Insurance Brokers, who are returning as the sponsor of the main arena at this year’s Your Horse Live, have a close relationship with Redwings, having supported them on several animal and equine campaigns and collaborated with them on events such as Strangles Awareness Week. Your Horse Live is hosting the SEIB Search for a Star championships on Friday 8 November.

The equine welfare charity will use the money to create an interactive paddock map at Redwings Aylsham Visitor Centre in Norfolk.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this grant from Movement for Good. Redwings Aylsham has 20,000 visitors a year including families, school groups and animal welfare enthusiasts, whose generosity we rely on to fund our vital work rescuing and providing lifelong sanctuary to the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who need us,” said Rebecca Hatcher, trust fundraising officer at Redwings.

‘A more compelling and memorable experience’

“The interactive map will mean a more compelling and memorable experience for them and foster a deeper emotional connection with our equines and Redwings, hopefully driving stronger support and increasing income. It will provide information about all the equines who live with us at Redwings Aylsham – including where visitors can see them – information about the site, upcoming events, and important Redwings news.”

The charity eventually hopes to introduce the map at some of its other centres too.

“We’re delighted to see this Movement for Good Larger Grant going to an equine welfare charity that we have a strong history with. The team at Redwings leave no stone unturned in their quest to provide the best possible outcomes for the horses and ponies in their care. Promoting equine welfare is so important to us at SEIB and working with and giving back to the equine community are long-held values within our business,” said Suzy Middleton, SEIB’s chief executive officer.

This year, the Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards have awarded over £1million to good causes with over £500,000 being granted in the larger grants category. Recipients of the large grants have three years to spend the money on a project or to assist with core funding costs.
