Ten ambitious grassroots riders have been selected from hundreds of applicants to be ambassadors for Spillers.
The feed company’s competition attracted 700 entries from equestrians from across the disciplines of varying experience and ability.
Established competitors as well as those at lower levels were selected. Each will receive a free bag of feed every month, together with two virtual consultations from a nutritionist over the year. The winners will also receive a collection of Spillers-branded riding kit.
“It was incredible seeing the entries flood in,” said Clare Barfoot RNutr, Marketing and Research and Development Director at Spillers. “All of us in the marketing team at Spillers loved reading inspiring and admirable stories of horse and rider relationships and ambitions.
“It was a very tough job to select our 20 semi-finalists and we are so grateful to the general public for helping us to narrow the list down to our final 10.”
The Ambassador Programme winners include:
- Chelsey Babbs from Hampshire, who has a busy stud and competition season planned for her Welsh cob stallion Comet.
- Jane Hendy from Gwent, who is competing at national level with British Carriage Driving with her team of ponies.
- Jess Keatley-Palmer from East Sussex, who is an ambitious showjumper and producer of horses.
- Chloe Houston from Cambridgeshire, who competes in dressage with her mares and is also a riding coach.
- Morgan Nicholson from Denbighshire, who has an Irish Draught x Appaloosa and enjoys competing side-saddle.
- Ashley Fraser (pictured) from North Lanarkshire, who is currently showjumping at newcomers and BE100, with plans to move to novice this year.
- Jemma Lynch from Nottinghamshire, who has showjumping goals with her young Haflinger Taya.
- Charlie Turley from Worcestershire, who is an FEI qualified endurance GB rider.
- Caitlin Cox from County Durham, who is a young event rider competing her two horses Ping and Pongo up to BE Novice level.
- Pippa Haslam from Surrey, who events her three horses Luna, Munchie and Pickle and has a busy season planned.
Each of the winners will be invited to share their progress across Spillers’ social media channels and will also have the opportunity of becoming a guest blogger on the company’s website.
