Calling all Northern Region British Dressage members!
The British Dressage Northern Regional Committee wanted to do something really special for its members this year in order to offer a fun and supportive experience and to help them feel part of the BD Northern Region Community as well.
The result? Well, after a lot of thought and discussion is was decided that the most exciting thing, and one that everyone would appreciate is a show just for the Northern members – so that’s what’s coming up soon.
With classes run over two days, the event at Port Royal EEC near York will allow riders to earn points, percentages, sponsored trophies and sashes and will cater for all levels.
The show is on 23 and 24 June and entries close 8 June so you’ll need to get a wiggle on if you want to join in. They’ll be all the usual qualifiers for the BD competitions and if you live in the region and ride two tests at the level set out in the schedule, your scores will automatically count towards the fun Northern Championship (which isn’t linked to the Summer Regional and National Qualifications). Children can even compete – in an Intro lead rein competition (handlers dress to impress!)
They’ll be trade stands, a regional stand manned by the committee to answer all your dressage questions and a tombola too. So, something for all the family.
As an added bonus, all the winners from the show will have first refusal to ride at Northern’s Got Talent (a follow on from the successful Strictly Come Dressage) at Bishop Burton Arena on the evening of 3 November. The event will be hosted by Hannah Moody.
