A team of equestrian businesses are working together to provide urgent supplies to horses in the Ukraine.
Craig Harris from Event Paramedic Services will be travelling to Poland with his 7.5 tonne lorry with feed, rugs and medical equipment for the horses that have been displaced across the country.
He will be part of a convoy leaving the South West on Wednesday (16 March) and hope to leave with three full vehicles. Equine Rescue Services will be providing free cover to Craig for the trip.
Redpost Equestrian are working with Craig to arrange the transport of supplies. They will be matching the first £500 of donations on their website.
“Our priority is getting the right feed and equipment out there at the right time; it’s vital that we prioritise space with every trip,” said a Redpost spokesman. “For this reason, rather than buying specific feed or equipment, you can donate through our website, where 100 percent of your donation will be used to purchase essential supplies bound for Ukraine.
“We know it’s not just the horses who need our help. There are several organisations doing incredible work to aid those affected by the humanitarian crisis, [but] with our expertise in horses and animals, we feel that this is where our efforts will be the most effective.”
