Renella Equestrian Silicone Seat Riding Leggings
If you are after a pair of cost-effective, yet stylish every-day riding tights, you really can’t go wrong with the Renella riding leggings. I have already invested in another pair for myself ready for the summer!
First impressions
My first impressions on the Renella riding tights were that they were really smart. As a relatively new brand, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved the grey pair I was sent. They have a full silicone seat for added security in the saddle, plus the very important phone pocket, and they certainly looked and felt great quality.
I would be excited if they were looking to bring out some more colours to add to the range, but as a relatively new brand, hopefully this will be on their plan for the future.
Fit
I’ve been riding in them for about 4 months, usually about twice a week, in a variety of situations: dressage, show jumping, hacking and of course, plenty of yard work. The fit for riding tights (leggings) is so important in the saddle and I was very pleased that they sit nicely above the hips, not too high waisted (for someone like me who doesn’t have much of a waist), and the size (I’m a size 12 and wore a medium in the Renella range) which was perfect on me – no digging in creating the ever dreaded muffin top. They created a smooth silhouette and I felt extremely comfortable. They didn’t slip down and require constant pulling up, nor did they feel too loose – the fit was perfect. The phone pocket is an absolute must now for riding leggings, so I was very pleased to see this was included in the design.
Performance
Performance wise they were very comfortable in the saddle, the full silicone seat added a layer of security, although some riders may prefer without the full silicone seat which is available.
After numerous washes they have held up extremely well, no loss in the shape or colour transfer and overall, they are currently my ‘go-to’ pair of right tights.
Value for money
Value for money for the Renella riding tights is excellent – at £35 RRP I believe they are excellent quality. There are cheaper alternatives on the market, but as someone who has previously invested in a cheap pair but then can’t wear them as they dig in making riding unflattering & uncomfortable, I would say you can’t go wrong with the Renella riding leggings.
