Five lucky horses will thank their winning owners* when they receive this fabulous prize of a Horse First Aid Kit and access to an online training course, delivered by a qualified vet from NKC Equestrian Training, each worth £366.

The Horse First Aid Kit contains all the items that an owner needs to keep their horse happy and healthy, all in one place. Horses inevitably injure themselves, and as a horse owner it’s important to be prepared to deal with minor cuts and scrapes.

The first aid kit that is up for grabs contains items to clean a cut, products to dress a wound, plus poulticing materials and a thermometer for checking a horse’s temperature. The kit, which can be used at home or when away, is conveniently contained within a drawstring bag, keeping all the items safe and clean.

Online course aimed at busy equestrians

As well as knowing that they have the correct items to hand all the time, each winner will also receive a special invitation to join the popular Horse First Aid Course, developed with and presented by qualified vet Kate Granshaw, a partner at Lingfield Equine Vets in Surrey.

The course, designed for busy equestrians, runs online so that owners can update their horse first aid knowledge around other commitments.

The Horse First Aid Course covers keeping horses healthy, wound care, eye conditions, and how to handle emergency situations such as colic, choke, or a horse getting stuck or cast. Important topics such as infectious diseases, biosecurity and worming are also included.

An injured or unwell horse is the worst scenario imaginable for an owner, but knowing what to do, when to call the vet and when they might be able to cope on their own is vital.

The Horse First Aid Course from NKC Equestrian Training gives horse owners the latest veterinary recommendations, with information that they can trust. It is filled with practical suggestions and real world examples.
